Retreatment Root Canal

Sometimes a root canal fails. This generally occurs when a canal was not previously located, incompletely cleaned, or bacteria found a way inside your tooth. A 3-D image allows Dr. Dongell to identify the exact source of the problem. Once the problem is visualized, she can tell you whether it makes sense to redo the original root canal or consider an alternative. A retreatment root canal is very similar to a root canal. Instead of removing tissue inside your tooth, like in your original root canal, dental material is removed. Then, the space is cleaned and sealed. You will need to follow-up with your dentist for a permanent filling or crown.
